1) Where we live and living conditions in campus : We live in Nanjing Auditing University’s campus in the first dormitory building dedicated to international students. Our apartments are real melting pots since we share our daily life with Malaysian, Vietnamese, Australian and German people. And actually, we liked this mixture from the first day. It’s a real pleasure for us to discover new sides of different cultures every day. We can feel this rich diversity when cooking some dishes, speaking each one’s own native language or while expressing some particular habits, and we don’t miss any opportunity then to learn more about them or talk about ours. Furthermore, teacher Chen Yanjiao in charge of IAEP program of NAU has arranged two Chinese students of IAEP elite class who help us . we had the chance to know very kind people, who helped us from the first day to settle in, feel comfortable and after to discover the beautiful places of the city.

    2) Studying conditions : Before coming to Nanjing Auditing University, we had to choose some courses among a list of units, so we tried to diversify the subjects. As in our school , ISCAE, in Morocco our major was Finance, we chose three Finance subjects, but we also decided to attend some others in Marketing, IT Auditing and of course Chinese. Indeed, we fixed from the beginning as an objective to learn this special language, spoken by more than 1/6 of the people on Earth. Furthermore, China has lately gained a very important situation in the international economy, and we can feel in Morocco its powerful presence by the great number of Chinese merchants. So it was a prerogative for us to start learning this worldwide language to be able in the future to deal with Chinese merchants and companies.

    3) What do we think about the course : As planned, the courses attended are all run in English, what was another challenge for us since in Morocco most of the courses are done in French or in Arabic. So it’s very interesting to learn some business key words both in our languages and in English, especially that in most of big companies and multinationals the main language remains English. As far as our units concerned, we found some similarities between some of them and some courses already done in our school, and in this case, we try to compare and focus more on the pedagogy followed to teach these lessons, moreover the courses we had in Morocco we’re based on a French or European system, which is completely different from the Chinese system that we can assimilate to the Anglo-Saxon one. So we think it’s a great added value for our knowledge, besides in other courses, the content is really new for us, so we are glad to learn more. About Chinese language courses, they are divided into two main parts: listening and oral Chinese. We enjoy learning more about “Hanyu” and we try to use it in our daily life : with our friends, in the market and everywhere we can. And it’s so funny sometimes when for example we miss a tone.
